Koshi Hospital (Maternity ward) Incident

Hospital: Koshi Zonal Hospital, Biratnagar, Nepal

Victims: Head doctor of maternity ward

Type of violence: Physical

Event: Kin of 27-year-old pregnant woman who had died in the course of treatment at the hospital, had thrashed the parturition ward chief blaming negligence for the death. The deceased's kin had demanded for Rs. 2 million compensation and action against the doctor. The hospital had claimed death to be due to myocardial infarction.
