Malakheti Hospital (Mother and Newborn) Incident

Type of violence: Violent demonstration

Event: After death of a 28-year-old pregnant lady and her newborn who died during childbirth in the hospital, angered relatives staged a violent demonstration claiming the negligence of doctors and nurses with a demand of legal action and compensation. Police had to intervene with teargas and baton after they blocked the highway.
