Simraungadh Nagar Hospital (Snakebite) Incident

Hospital: Simraungadh Nagar Hospital, Bara, Nepal

Victims: 5 Health workers and 3 Municipal police

Type of violence: Physical

Event: A local gang had attacked the health workers and police and vandalized the hospital claiming negligence over the death of a 16-month-old child who was under treatment in the hospital following snakebite. While the hospital in-charge claimed that the antivenom was unavailable, the relatives claimed that the antivenom was not administered even though it was available. 2 computers, 1 laptop, 1 ECG machine, 1 monitor and medications were destroyed during the attack.
