Event: A 16-year-old boy had undergone an appendectomy in the hospital and was kept in ICU for 2 days in the postoperative period before referral to the Bharatpur medical college. After the patient died, the relatives and locals had picketed the hospital, staged a sit-in with dead body and blocked the East-West highway blaming the doctors for negligence (according to a relative, the Bharatpur medical college stated the cause of death as intestinal injury). They had demanded action against the guilty and compensation.
